Peach Sangria

Celebrate the symbolic end of summer with this light, refreshing party favorite, Sangria. This version is made with white wine. If you prefer your Sangria with red wine, substitute a light, dry one. The peaches marinate in the brandy overnight and soak up all the goodness of the spirits. After sipping the punch, eat the fruit with caution!

1 pint raspberries or blueberries
2 good sized peaches, pitted and sliced
1 small orange, sliced
1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup orange brandy (such as Grand Marnier)
1/2 cup orange juice or 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup orange juice
1 to 1 1/2 bottles dry, crisp white wine, chilled

In a bowl, combine the berries, peaches and orange slices. Add 1/3 cup of the sugar, the brandy, orange brandy, and orange and/or lemon juice. Stir gently, cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.

Just before serving, add the wine. Taste the mixture and add more sugar if you like. If it is too sweet, add more wine to balance the flavor.

Serve straight up or over rocks. You will not be disappointed!
