We first encountered this at a cheese shop in town where they'd doused chopped up burratta mozarella with truffle oil, cracked pepper, and smoked Maldon flakes. It was love at first bite, and I bought a box straight off.
Not an overpowering smokiness at all - a mild, earthy richness that will play well with almost anything regular salt does.
Also good tossed with popcorn and fine-grated good quality parmasean, with or without the truffle oil.
