A Salt Traders Exclusive!
We are the exclusive United States importer of Danish Viking Smoked Sea Salt. The salt is made in a style devised by the Vikings. Thanks to the efforts of one man in Denmark, who took it upon himself to rekindle this millennium-old tradition, you can experience this amazing salt here in the US. The salt is smoked using several different woods and "The resulting salt," according to the April 2002 issue of SAVEUR Magazine, "tastes like a bonfire." No other smoked sea salt has the depth of character and flavor as the Danish Viking Smoked Sea Salt.
*Please note, this is a moist sea salt with a light stickiness. Because of its artisanal nature, batches will vary in moisture content and texture.

Not for the faint of heart, but Danish Viking Salt is an important addition to meats, sauces and strong flavored dishes. You really only need a few crystals, do not use like conventional salt in a shaker !

This adds a most delicious smokey flavor to meats, fish or poultry. I was most pleasantly surprised by its potency, a little goes a long way.
If you like to add a smokey flavor to whatever you are preparing I recommend this salt.

I finally replenished my stash of Danish Smoked Salt - I buy it by the pound, so it take a long time to go through (a little dab 'ill do ya). Love on lamb, beef, Impossible Burger/Beyond Burger, but also in stews, meaty fish, and I always throw a teaspoon in for pasta sauce - gives it a wonderful umami flavor.
